Why do some honeys taste different than others? What causes honey to be lighter or darker in color? Does local honey really help people with allergies? Is honey still good to eat after it crystallizes?
The Honey Tasting Experience will answer all of these questions, and a whole lot more! Get all of your senses ready as we explore the aromas, colors, textures and flavors of local varietal honeys we’ve collected from around the US and around the world, including our own hyper-local honey, harvested right here in Elkins Park.
Leave that plastic bear on the supermarket shelf and learn why high quality local honey is healthier and tastes so much better! Like fine wine, the taste of local honey will vary from year to year, across cities and countries, and even from hive to hive, based on the diversity of flowers blooming in each season, the regional climate, and many other factors.
Gather a small group of family and friends around the table, and we'll bring the rest! This 1.5 hour session includes tasting of 8-10 different varietal and local honeys, paired deliciously with local cheese, fruits and crackers, and a couple of beekeepers who love to share our passion for pollinators, and fun facts about honeybees and honey!
The honey tasting session may be held at your home, office, event space or other location of choice, and can be suited to adults or children. Contact us for more information and pricing, and get ready to book a date!
